Newfoundland and Labrador has a small but growing group of beekeepers, and is the only place on Earth still unaffected by many of the diseases and other problems affecting bee populations elsewhere.  We decided to form the first Newfoundland and Labrador beekeeping association to enable us to work together and to benefit from shared experience. On November 6, 2014, we held the inaugural meeting of the new organization in Corner Brook, with around 37 people attending or joining by telephone.

Please do not import honey bees, used equipment, pollen, beeswax, etc.!!!!! It is illegal to do so without a permit from the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador. Please - let's work together to keep the province free of varroa and other pests, pathogens, and diseases that are wreaking havoc elsewhere in North America.
